Meet Dr. Thurber Oral Surgeon in East Syracuse, NY
Dr. David Thurber obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas dental branch in Houston, Texas where he graduated top of his class. Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Thurber was accepted into an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Allegheny General Hospital
Dr. Thurber practices fullscope oral surgery and is passionate about his profession and providing excellent care to his community and abroad. Dr. Thurber maintains staff privileges at St Joseph's hospital where he donates his free time and services to the doctor residents and hospital patients. In addition to his dedication and commitment to serving his community, Dr. Thurber established a non-profit organization named “Service to Mankind” in which he works to educate medical residents and performs free oral and maxillofacial surgeries including dento-facial deformities, pediatric cleft lip and palate, and facial trauma to the under-served regions of Honduras, Central America. Dr. Thurber is fluent in Spanish and travels regularly to Honduras, committed to serving those less fortunate.
Dr. Thurber and his family are happy to call Central New York home. Outside of the office he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters traveling, hiking and enjoying the nature of CNY.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (NYSSOMS) and the Fifth District Society of New York. |
